Sisterhood of the traveling bag…

We all love traveling and it’s always fun to see our bags travel all around the States and even over seas, so we thought, let’s do a sisterhood of the traveling bag!  So to make it really fun and easy, we are having a little competition to sweeten the travels!
Here is the concept:

  • 3 bags throughout the summer, contest ends Sept 1st.
  • Rebekah Scott Designs will give 3 bags to 3 team captains starting in May.  Each team captain will need to distribute the bag throughout their team all summer long to see which bag can travel the farthest before Sept 1st.  The team that has the bag that travels the farthest in miles will all receive 30.00 in Bekah Bucks for a new bag, and the team captain receives 40.00 Bekah Bucks.
  • To become a Team Captain you will need to send a brief email with name, address, phone and why you deserve to head up a team. Have you been a fan all your life?  Traveling is your passion, and you can’t imagine ever owning any other bag than a Bekah bag? Simply love competition or need a new bag real bad?  Just be creative and get campaigning!  We will choose 3 team captains by May 26th  based on creativity, drive and excitement over leading a team.

Miss Popular…. Gretta!

I have often thought of introducing  a messenger style bag and so I did this spring and she is taking off like wild fire!  She is Miss. Gretta, and she is popular, I can barely keep her in stock. She is cute and fun and perfect for mom’s on the go or those summer trips where you need to be hands free. I carried one for a week and half and loved the flexibility of it and size, just enough for all my things, my children’s and the occasional book (sometimes I like the think I will have time to read, makes feel human, even though the book doesn’t go read for months!)

We are gearing up for all the summer shows, hope to have 200 bags by Edina Art Fair, here we go! That group of bags should help us get off to good start for all the shows in June.  We are getting close, my kids still have a strange ring in the ears– it’s the sewing machine going nonstop but so far they haven’t noticed.  Iversyn loves the snuggly and being close to Mommy so I can still get some things done, she is no stranger to all my fabric.

I better get to sewing and dreaming up new ideas.  I will be sending an email out about when to book trunk shows this summer again with some really nice gals who will be helping conduct them for me, so I can keep sewing and they can keep selling!  Let me know if you would like to have a trunk show with them and we can get that going, stay tuned for dates available!

Have  a great weekend, back to the hum of my sewing machine!  Happy creating!

Key Ring Hold Up!

Oh goodness, well I wrote a long time ago about introducing the key ring swivel hook to the inside of the purses to find our floating keys and I ordered them weeks ago.  Well I got them today and they are much to small and clumsy for what I was thinking, so we are back to square one and ordering again. And wouldn’t you know, they won’t return/exchange them, yikes! I learned my lesson the hard way, read read read!  So don’t fear, I will have them sometime but I have to start over, hang in there, the frustration of finding our keys will end soon!

ps. I put my keys in our cell phone pocket, the one located under our label because I can find them easier because that pocket is shallow for our cell phones, so the two can share, how nice ;)
