Skype show

Rebekah Scott Designs has tried a completely new way of doing trunk shows, via Skype! We tried this last Saturday morning with host Paula Pierce from Rapid City. She was equipped with one suitcase full of 21 purses, 10 cosmetics, one Barbie and one Pixie. We also included plenty of marketing tools to help with also.
The show actually happened by mistake. I was going to be present and do the show in Rapid City when things fell through with travel, so we decided to still do the show by sending the bags and then being able to see and chat during the show via Skype.
Skype is a free service that allows people from all over the world to see eachother and chat on their computers. It is a wonderful service and we may be using it even more now!
The show presented a few kinks, but I am sure we can iron them out before the next show! All in all, the host Paula, received her great credit and I still got to meet her friends and family and tell everyone what I do and love for a living. If you think a Skype show is a possibility for you, contact us at www.shoprsd.com and let’s talk about booking a show!

Christmas is 51 days away!

Here we go! Christmas is only 51 days away, can you believe it? I love Christmas, and I have been listening to Christmas music for at least 2 weeks now! Our son Gus even sings jingle bells with hope in his eyes, or at least I like to think so!

With Christmas this close we should go over the Rebekah Scott Designs Christmas rush! During the holidays are turnaround increases to four weeks. So we would like the orders placed for Christmas by Dec. 7th so we can have our your gifts out in time to celebrate. We will of course accept orders after the 7th, but will be limited to what we can get done and what we have in stock to send out. If you are designing your own, the best way to have it in time is email us your ideas by Dec. 7th, so we can clarify and finalize it all. You may still order and buy after the 7th, it just becomes a bigger rush and tougher to make sure everything is out by then.

We have two big shows coming up that you can shop at as well. The Autumn Festival is Nov 12th-15th in Shakopee MN at Canterbury Park. We love this show, a huge number of booths are there with super talented artisans and the show really ushers in the holiday spirit.

We also have the Minglewood Art Show Dec 4th-5th in Sioux Falls. This is home show hosted by my good friend Carmen Dyar. She hosts this show in her home with 6 other artists. Her home is inspiration enough to go. The show is free to attend and so worth it just to see her home! She is a very talented decorator and she merchandises all the artists items a week in advance to show off that weekend. I love this show, so personal and so much fun to feel the Christmas spirit all around. I bring all my goods to buy or you can design your own as well. This is my 4th year doing her show and each year it gets better and better. So reserve the first weekend in December, the 4th and 5th for the Minglewood Studios Merry Merry Christmas Marketplace. I will send out our invite closer to the date with directions and times. We offer 10% off for both shows by printing this blog entry, and also for ordering before Dec. 7th, it pays to shop early ;) .

As for other news, we are busy- busy filling orders for Barbies and Pixies for the upcoming shows and salons. They pick up in popularity during the holidays and really fly off the shelves. The Wristlet’s are $28 and the Pixies are $30 along with the Cosmetics at $15, so they are great gift ideas and stocking stuffers. We have placed 8 new wristlets at Hip Chic boutique in downtown Sioux Falls this, and will have 4 Barbies and 4 Pixies at the Atoley Salon in Sioux Falls. We are also selling the often sold-out Bobby pins at the Atoley Salon. We sent 4 of the new scrunchy scarves to Trendz Boutique in downtown Brookings SD with 100 bobby pins. Shop now and shop big before they sell out!

Enjoy this season of bliss and family and always express your inner beauty.

New Chapter is coming soon!

Hello!  Well I have some great news to share, my family is expanding to four members.  We are having another baby around Valentines Day in Febuary.  We are very excited and I am of course just as excited as I am scared!  We had the ultrasound already and everything reported well, so we are counting down the weeks.  We don’t know what we are having, we love the surprise and the anticipation, and we think our son Gus likes the excitement too ;)   I plan on taking 6-8 weeks off once baby is here. We will still be taking orders, just not filling them until after the break and then the usual 3-4 weeks for delivery.  I love what I do so much that even with taking time off, I tell myself, “I can still work, it will be no problem,” but I know better than to rush this time with the new little one, I can never have it back.  So there’s the biggest news in the Scott house!

I have a confession to make. I have been listening to Christmas music for days now! I love the Christmas season and I believe you can never introduce the season too early!  With that in mind there is only 65 days till Christmas!  So if you are thinking about placing orders for your friends and family, now is the time!  During the Christmas season, we have a 4 week turnaround  because of the rush, so be sure and order online at www.shoprsd.comor email your “design your own options” soon and we can get started and cross that off your holiday list for you!  The accessories we have added in the last year are great stocking stuffers as well- the Polly (coin purse), the Pixie (clutch),  Barbie (wristlet), and the really convienent Cosmetics bags are great options!  So order now and start feeling the Christmas spirit multiply.  We also have gift certificates too if you are unsure of how to narrow it down!

We will have the new scrunchy scarves available online too, we have sent the pictures and everything.  We sold out of them this weekend at Expo for Her in Sioux Falls!   So we know we have got to fill them back up!

Here is some pics of our fun weekend in Sioux Falls at the Expo for Her.  We had lots of fans carrying the bags around and that so much fun to see! We even had a group of 4 sisters all toting their “Rebekah Scotts.”

Have a great week, and we will keep you updated on the Christmas countdown and the new arrivals.  God Bless your journey!

Come early and benefit!  We are now booking Trunk Shows for Nov and Dec. with great host benefits including “double reward points!”

We have finished about 14 more Barbie’s to sell, and  close to 16 dresses from the Olive Branch Line!  It is so fun to see the stock all finished and done and see people shop them for their loved ones.  I have some new fabrics in mind for the following weeks as well, so check the website www.shoprsd.com on the “design your own link” for the newest swatches to design your own!  Enjoy!

Autumn Festival- new bags and new stores to shop in!

Hello all!  We have one busy week ahead of us!  The Sioux Falls Autumn Festival in the Arena and Convention Center is this weekend, Oct 9th-12th.  Our booth number is R1, right on the corner, so come and check out all the new things; including the new oin purse Polly, the new styles, Nikki and Kelsey, and of course, some new fabrics!  I am hoping to have at least 4 dresses from the Olive branch line there as well–super cute and a super fit for stylish little girls ;)    We will also have more Pixies made up, and Barbie’s-the wristlet’s-plus some bobby pins to try on and purchase as well.  And to top it off- the new scarf design I came up with.  It is the “scrunchy” scarf, perfect for our weather coming in, and to show off a funky broach you may own.  Whew!  Did you get all that?  We have been busy and having a ball with it!!!

Also, we have started selling some bags in a new boutique in Brookings SD.  It is called “La Te Da” and has the cutest atmosphere and items to buy.  I just love inspiring spaces, and Lisa, the owner, certainly has created a space like that.  We took 6 bags and some new cosmetic bags to La Te Da.  Be sure to check her out her store in Brookings, located south on 22nd street.

Next weekend, Oct 16th and 17th is the Expo For Her event, also In Sioux Falls, at the arena/convention center.  Stay tuned for details on this fune event for women.
