I can’t even say that phrase without singing it! But that really describes what is going on for Rebekah Scott Designs. We do love traveling and June is the month to do it! I will be taking my family with me, my twin sister or mom to most shows depending on who is free and wearing sunscreen! We love the actual trip there, we sing and dance in the car, and plan out the days to come. We are also writing a book so that takes up a lot of our road time also. We loving meeting all the different people at shows and seeing them pick out their latest. We love spotting the “Bekah bags” in the crowd too, we just giggle with delight! Be sure to keep updated on the new styles and fabrics and order the one you have to have for that exciting event you have this summer, wedding, vacation, or a goal you met. God is so good, can’t wait to be “On the Road Again!” (Yah, I’m singing it again too!)

Jannell
She’s here! Meet Jannell, the newest addition to my collection. She is my version of the perfect sized tote. She is approx. 15in. x12 in. and has just a few leather details. Her handles are leather so they won’t show wear and tear, and the very bottom of her is leather to keep it clean and updated. The handles are 22in. long, the average handle length to fit right over your shoulder. I created Jannell so my customers would have an option of having a really cute statement tote without a lot of cost involved. Jannell is $75. I named her after my Aunt Jannell who is very bubbly, practical and always on the go! So if you need a statement tote to add life to your summer, introduce Jannell into your life!

Yes, you read right, I have completed the first phase of my baby/children’s clothing line. The line is
meant for Photographers who are looking for that unique “look” to photograph their clients in. Last Friday I presented the line to Candace Ann Photography in Sioux Falls and she bought every single piece I had! I was so excited and thrilled that I really nailed the ”concept” she was hoping for and even had some surprise pieces she loved. The line is available for photographers and customers to purchase as well. I will post the pictures of the pieces as soon as Candace Ann gets her models lined up and has them photographed. You will love it.

Rebekah Scott and Candace Ann
Candace contacted me a couple of weeks ago asking me to design her a really unique line that her clients would love and that she would have a ball photographing. She is bubbly and inspirational and always uplifting. She really knows her stuff and I always leave her thinking “I’m using my God-given talents.” She makes me want to do better at everything, always aiming higher.
She wanted pieces that were truly different and fun to place her babies and children in. The pieces are all very “costumey” with a modern funk and ease of creativity. I designed and sewed five different bloomers and matching headpieces. They were all either equiped with flowers or sequins or even some fur! I made two really cute tutus, one is black and red and full of sass, the other one had teal, pink, red, lime green, and yellow tule with dragon flies placed strategically. I designed a lavender/mint plaid dress with matching train that flows elegantly from behind. My favorite piece is a deep hunter green velour cape with a copper iridescent lining and golden goose feathers lining the hood. When I sketched this piece I couldn’t wait to see it executed and it completed my vision 100%. I can’t wait to post the pictures for you to see! So yes, exciting news for Rebekah Scott Designs. I know Candace Ann will be seeking out Models for the first shoot, so be sure to check out her website at candaceann.com, and read her blog to keep updated. God is so good and really using me in ways I never knew possible, here I come!
SIDE NOTE: I have sent over 20 new purses that I finished up and sent to my website designer -so stay tuned for the new ones!

I find myself getting emotional just thinking about writing this story. My mom is a master seamstress; she taught me everything I know about sewing. She has been sewing since she was little. This year so far has proved very exciting for her and her journey of happiness.
Ever since I started my business I have been praying that somehow my mom would be able to start her own business and gain confidence in her skills. And my prayers and dreams for her are coming true.
You may have noticed the home décor link on the website explaining that Peggy Eggers handles that side of things. It is so exciting for me to see her succeed and really do what she loves.
When I speak for different groups, I talk a lot about your own passions and how to discover them and then how to reach them. I ask the people in attendance to ask themselves two questions, first what were you doing when you were four? And second, what is the first thing you think about in the morning? Because chances are that is where your passions lie and probably where God has gifted you. I use my mom as an example because at 4 when she was playing paper dolls with her 4 sisters, she was busy rearranging the cut out furniture and cutting out different fabric samples for her house. She wasn’t as interested in the paper dolls, but their house with the furniture and curtains. She loves decorating and sewing window treatments– and I mean she loves it like I love my work and that means- a lot. I lose sleep when I have a new idea for a new design, she decides not to sleep and just start the project, even in the middle of night. My family and her sisters often tease her about how often she changes her home to fit her newest inspiration. (They don’t tease her however when she helps them change their homes!)
This last year has really got the ball rolling for her because she officially started sewing window treatments outside her inner circle. Her business is called “Affordable Elegance.” And the name really sums up what she aims to do. She aims to please her customers and change their homes “look” without breaking the bank. It’s like she often says, “It doesn’t have be to expensive to look expensive.”
I love seeing her grin from ear to ear when she is telling me about the latest project she is working on and how she envisions it completed. She is very good at helping the home owner narrow down the look they are going for and how to go about pursuing it affordably.
If the only reason I am succeeding at my love of designing is so that she could see herself succeeding at what she loves, then it has been worth every minute.
She’s bubbly, knowledgeable and already in love with your home. Meet Peggy Eggers, and get ready to be inspired.

I love hearing this question. Because it reminds me of my blessings and that I doing my dream job full time. I often laugh and reply, yes, in fact, I work full time, part time, weekends, nights and holidays! I thought I would give a little look into what I do every week to help explain myself.
Every week, depending on the season, we sew (my team) about 20-25 bags. We do 20 or so first phase for 2-3 days and then do 20 or so 2nd phase for 2-3 days. First phase is cutting out and putting the outside of the bags together and sewing the linings. Second phase is sewing the outside and lining together and finishing the detailing. I enjoy both stages and have really discovered a fine science to it all. Each week is a little different, but I usually start 1st phase on Monday, finish by Wednesday and then 2nd phase till late Friday. It’s a long week but I love what I do and so it is energizing to see the bags all line up and ready to sell. My favorite part is doing the detailing and thinking about who will love them and why. I really do design what inspires me and what I see others wearing and loving. I have a few customers who ask me to just come up with something they would like because they trust my eye and give me design freedom. Weekends are usually art shows or creating prototypes for new purse styles or new accessories all together. Yes, I work full time, but I don’t really consider it work, I consider it living life the way I was meant to full time.
